Mr. Bassam N. Ibrahim and Mr. Bryce J. Maynard from the offices of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC were kind enough to come by for a visit. They gave us a presentation to update us on some recent trends, decisions and changes within the US trademark practice. We also discussed the widespread practice of companies or individuals filing preemptive applications for third-party trademarks, and the strengthening of enforcement against such activities. We also talked about the increased scrutiny and requirements during the examination of “intent-to-use” filings.
