Today we had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Gang Hu, Mr. Jianzhong Yang, Ms. Shanshan Du and Ms. Limei Liu from China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. Among other things, we discussed official objections involving trademarks considered to be misleading (China Trademark Law Article 10 Section 1-7), as well as ways to deal with such objections. The recently disclosed list of “inappropriate expressions” and the increased attention and enforcement against them was another topic of interest. On a lighter note, we wrapped up the meeting by amusing each other with the similarities and differences between numbers considered “lucky” and “unlucky” in Japan and China respectively.
